Inside it's comfortably furnished with adjoining lounge and bar/games areas. A few TVs are dotted around for viewing entertainment especially for sports fans. The newly introduced menu offers a good range of popular main meals plus lighter bites like baguettes and sandwiches. The beers generally tend to be in the premium to strong range. Bus stops a few minutes walk away, as is the Pontymister/Risca station on the newly opened Cardiff/Ebbw Vale line.

Bustling pub in a commanding situation overlooking a park and local shops where the bus stops are situated. The interior is broadly divided into several areas including to the right of the main door a cosy pool section partly separated from some seating by a central fireplace. Onthe left side is more seating near another fireplace and a darts area. Sports and music are popular here and there is a large TV screen and juke box. The single guest ale is sourced from independent breweries and throughput is such that it is changed almost daily. In warmer weather, there is a good sized garden while additional seating is provided at the front of the premises. A short walk from the Pontymister/Risca station on the newly opened Cardiff/Ebbw Vale line.
